in a peaceful place

Never underestimate the need for some time with nature and your thoughts. Being a child of the city, there’s no other place quite as perfect as the Barbican conservatory, for spending some quality time and just being at ease within the monumental brutalist complex.

Boasting a peaceful and relaxing experience, it is home to 1000s of varieties of plants and flowers. It also houses carp and tortoise. It was incredible to finally be able to experience this part of one of my favourite pieces of architecture, with its 4 storey concrete core, surrounded a lattice of glass and steel. Plants dangling, climbing, sprouting, weaving in and through the spaces and confines of the conservatory, seemingly hoping to take over their captive space.

Hope you all had a peaceful weekend.
